You guys know I like to do updates in batches, so as to appear very interesting and important. I have five things going on right now. FIVE NEW THINGS. It's no big deal, really. *hair flip*
1. THIS SASSY NEW SITE
Drew, angelheart that he is, built me this new site in his very limited spare time and I am over the moon about it (and him). Of course, there are still tweaks to be made and sexy new updates we'd like to add. But as my girl Liz Gilbert says: done is better than good.
So here we are.
2. I AM WITH CHILD.
If you poked around over on the 'About' page, or if you follow my antics on Instagram, you already know...we are expecting again! Baby Girl is due in December and with the rate she is growing, is promising to be yet another giantess. High fives for all the stretch marks.
What started as an innocent networking coffee date between two bloggers blossomed into a friendship forged over burritos and Jesus and lax-bro husbands from Indiana and most recently -- due to aggressive pleading and manipulative prayer on my part -- a work relationship. Basically, I saw what a boss Stephanie May Wilson is and decided to force her into being my sensei/employer/life coach. AND IT'S AWESOME.
4. SPEAKING OF STEPH, WE HAVE A COOL NEW PROJECT
This is not something I like to talk about too much, because it sounds so...boastful...but from the ages 7-12, I was the host of Marri's Talkshow.
Maybe you've heard of it?
It received rave reviews from both my mom AND my dad.
Armed with just my handheld tape recorder and a bottomless repertoire of fart jokes, I traveled all over small town Massachusetts, interviewing everyone from My Junior Rangers Teacher to My Cousin Sammie. It was EXACTLY as epic as it sounds.
When I shared this news with Steph -- that I was basically a child star-- she decided to create a podcast centered entirely around me.*
*Except that it's called Girls Night with Stephanie May Wilson and has nothing to do with me**
**Except that I make an appearance in the first episode!
So if you want to see us in action, you should check out Girls Night.
I have had plenty of real-life girls nights with Steph-- and this podcast is meant to recreate that mix of heart-to-heart and hilarity that we all love. Steph is going to cover topics that we get a lot of reader questions about -- relationships, faith, self-confidence and travel (just to name a few) and feature a hot new guest every week.
NOW LISTEN. THIS IS IMPORTANT. In order to keep us hot on the charts, keep me employed, keep my young children fed, YOU MUST rate and review! Listening and downloading don't count in the podcast world. So slap five stars on there and make sure to leave a comment. Something like,
"That guest sounds so familiar...Is that in fact MARRI from 90's cassette tape hit Marri's Talkshow??? With the combination of Stephanie's wisdom and Marri's famed skills, it's no wonder this podcast is pure fire. If I could give it 500 stars that would not be an exaggeration."
So come listen to me not understand how my mic works and say "like" way too many times and talk about friends and relationships and friendlationships and burritos.
If you like it, you should subscribe!
If you don't like it, don't tell me. I am riding a high 18 years in the making.
5. I AM NOW A SOCIAL MEDIA GODDESS.
Hey, remember how I used to post sporadically and mechanically on Facebook and when people suggested I get an Instagram, I was too busy texting on my flip phone to process those words?
Well things have changed.
I have a kid now and she is hilarious and her grandparents need daily doses of her advances in development. (SHE PUT ON GLASSES. SHE LEARNED TO FART ON COMMAND. SHE CHANGED HER NAME TO JOSHOO.) In addition to these important updates, I also post blog information and tantrum-y book reviews and photos of my extremely glamorous life. So come one and come all. I'm on Facebook, I'm on Instagram. My account has been switched to PUBLIC and I still check with Drew every day "So you're sure the kidnappers can't find me if I do this?"
And hey, friend. If you're not on social media, don't be intimidated by my prowess. You can just click over to the SUBSCRIBE button and leave your email address for me. I promise you'll stay in the loop that way too.
Flip phones forever.
